People don’t really think of Mykonos as a place to be for hikers. This is probably because there are not so many designated routes and you must try to discover the beauty of Mykonos by finding your way in Mykonos hinterland and shores. Most of Mykonos visitors don’t think of spending their holidays in Mykonos walking into the nature but this is one of the most interesting activities to do! Our second suggestion for hiking in Mykonos starts from the village of Ano Mera where you can descent to the beach of Lia. This is probably the most interesting route in Mykonos, as it passes through the slopes of the mountain, offers beautiful views to the sea and swimming at the beach of Lia which is such a rewarding finish to your path.
You can also visit the village of Ano Mera for hiking in Mykonos and just explore the surrounding area or you can leave your car at the mountain of Prophet Ilias or the Lighthouse and start walking to enjoy beautiful views. Also the shores of Mykonos, especially the unorganized ones, are great spots to walk and enjoy the scenery.
